Early Development
Consultation
Observation
Intervention
You know your child better than anyone. If your gut says something is off—even if your pediatrician says "they’ll outgrow it"—you deserve answers. With 90% of brain development occurring before age 5, every moment is an opportunity we can't afford to miss.
At Supporting Diverse Minds, we bridge the gap between parental intuition and clinical action.

We provide the expert advocacy and developmental insight you need to navigate these critical early years:
-
Expert Consultation & Assessment: Comprehensive observations to help you understand exactly where your child is meeting milestones and where they may need extra support.

Developmental Assessment

-
The Parent Interview: The psychologist starts by listening to you. You are the expert on your child’s history, milestones (like crawling or first words), and your current "gut feelings."
-
Play-Based Assessment: For younger children, it doesn't look like a "test." The psychologist uses specific toys and games to see how the child solves problems, follows directions, and uses their hands.
-
Skill Mapping: They look at the "Big Five" areas of development:
-
Cognitive: Thinking, learning, and problem-solving.
-
Communication: Understanding language and speaking.
-
Social-Emotional: How they interact with others and manage feelings.
-
Adaptive: Daily living skills (like eating or dressing).
-
Motor: Physical movement and coordination.
-
-
Observation: The psychologist watches how the child reacts to frustration, new people, or sensory input (like loud noises or certain textures).
-
The Roadmap (The Report): Afterward, you get a clear picture of your child’s strengths and "growing edges," along with a specific plan for what services (like speech or OT) will help them most

Pre-School Readiness
Children start school earlier than ever before. At four years old children start Transitional Kindergarten (TK). Although TK and Kindergarten are not mandated compulsory education, most parents choose to enroll their children in school. Many little ones haven't had opportunities to attend formal preschool and parents may be left wondering if their child is ready to walk through the school doors. Our services can help your child get ready for school success. Contact us for more information. $65/hour
