Early Development
Consultation
At Supporting Diverse Minds, educational consultation is something we frequently support. Parents want the best opportunities for their children to succeed in life. And it can be very emotional to watch a child struggle academically, emotionally, or socially during the growing years. Worries and fears can feel paralyzing. Parents turn to teachers and the education system for support only to be faced with school procedures, laws, and system jargon that can sound like two foreign languages combined. The process can feel daunting.

Parents can access educational consultation to help them with various areas of concern. Maybe there is a need to understand how to successfully access supports or interventions at school. Maybe there is a need to review an evaluation conducted, review an IEP, or review the goals. Maybe the parents need help understanding the IEP process and their rights. Pre-School Readiness
Children start school earlier than ever before. At four years old children start Transitional Kindergarten (TK). Although TK and Kindergarten are not mandated compulsory education, most parents choose to enroll their children in school. Many little ones haven't had opportunities to attend formal preschool and parents may be left wondering if their child is ready to walk through the school doors.
