Frequently Asked Questions

Here you will find some of the more frequently asked questions parents and clients may have about our Evaluations and Linked Services

1. Age of clients you works with?

Our practice strives to support children from 2 years and 10 months through 17 years old. We also help adults that may need supports related to education and/or work as adversely affected by learning difficulties.

2. Do you accept insurance?

At this time our practice is considered an out of network provider. We do not bill your insurance company for services provided.

3. Is a referral to your services needed?

No. You can contact us anytime.

4. How long does the evaluation take and when will I get a report?

The time it takes for an evaluation is dependent on the complexity of the case and age of the child. The evaluation sessions with your child can last up to 2 hours each. The assessment process takes a few weeks. In addition to the In-Take session (approximately 2 hours) we also complete interviews with teachers and attempt to collect rating scales from them, if needed. After we gather all needed information, the report will be completed within three weeks. Then we schedule a meeting to review the results of the evaluation, answer your questions, present a strategy moving forward, and provide the report.

5. What happens after I get the report?

Our practice strives to support you to help your child be successful in school. We provide you with a recommended strategy moving forward. This may include recommendations to take back to the teacher and school, it may include recommendations for therapies from trusted professionals in our community, and any other community resources that may be of help to you and your child. We are also able to continue to consult with you to help you navigate the school system to get the supports and services your child needs.

6. Can I be in the room with my child during testing?

For toddlers and young children parents will be able to attend the assessment sessions. For all other children we will give you information if you will be included in the testing sessions. Please ask questions so we can address your concerns and decide on a case by case situation as to what is best for your child.
